Most Newbie questions have been addressed many, many times and if the person would do a search they would find the answers to many if not all of there questions. Also if they would read this Thread that would also help in answering thier questions.
Most here have the patcience to answer the questions or point them in the right direction. This is the best darn forum around, where in most cases you get an answer to your question within minutes of posting.......... even if it is a repeat.

I know I, for one, look at a ton of threads all the time without replying. The reason is I'm new at all of this and it's a great way to learn. Reading threads has taught me a TON of information.

SonofKrono - Have you considered that a thread title such as "newbie question" is kind of vague. The thread has to be viewed to even know what it is about.
Would you rather have everyone answer with, "Hey, great thread, but I have no idea how to help you"?

I think alot of people will see what others have answered, and why add to the thread if its been answered already? I also just read the posts at times, really to new to give many answers, but learn alot by reading replies! I have gotten some very good answers to questions I have asked, and really appreciate those who give out advise over and over again. Thanks to you all!

even though i know the answer 8 times out of 10, i dont answer because i am SICK and TIRED of answering the same questions over and over and over again. so i leave it up to somebody else to answer the question, or for the person asking the question to do a search. no need to start a new thread for every single question! more than likely youll will find your answer with a search in less than 5 minutes

There are so many variables that go into answering a post....I think ReefNut tried to start a thread on this awhile ago - what makes you answer or not.
I agree that common questions are hard to answer sometimes. Do a search or something.
Questions posted in every forum: VERY annoying.
THINGS WRITTEN ENTIRELY IN UPPER CASE: ditto
Questions with a lot of excess information that may have no relevance to the topic that you need to sift through can be an issue.
Posts without any punctuation - a pet peeve.

i especially hate posts that have no capital letters anywhere in them and they dont have punctuation either and it seems like they keep going on and one like a run on sentence that will never end it makes me so frustrated that i dont even bother to read anything it says and i move on to the next thread

The #1 biggest reason for not posting is they dont know the awnser or are getting tired of replieing to the same posts when ppl are to lazy to search.

I agree with all that has been said. I am new too, so I read almost every thread just to learn. I only answer when I am 110% sure that I can answer correctly and help someone.
Nothing irritates me more than when people (and we all know who they are) post when they have nothing constructive to add!
I was guilty of asking stupid questions when I first started. I didn't even realize the search function existed. Maybe they need to make the button bigger. Now I always search first and only ask if I am unable to find what I am looking for (which is not very often) or if it is a question specific to my setup.
