Question on hospital tank.

I'm going to plan and hopefully never use a 10g hospital tank with function the only purpose.
I get heater, light, powerhead, filter. But what about a bio filter that will be replaceable. What would be a good bio filter for a 10g? I head a piece of a sponge kept in the fuge or sump would be adequate?
Thanks in advance

Thats all I use....I have 2 sponges that fit into my HOB filter that I leave in my sump. When it comes time to set up my QT for any reason....I take the sponges from my sump and put them in the HOB on the QT....instant bio-filter!!
Of course if I ever use any medications they can thrown in the trash and I get new sponges.
