Question on not eating new fish from SWF.com

I recieved my order last week wednesday
naso tang
blonde naso
yellow tank
candystripe
cardinal
royal gamma
hippo tang
Most are feeding but the yellow, blonde and hippo seem very reluctant. Does SWF condition the fish to eat flake and waffers? I am worried that they will die. Have even put in formula 3 cubes nothing, even brine ship frozen cubes and a intrest but mostly nothing. PLEASE HELP am I doing something wrong?

that's a lot of fish to be adding to a tank - what size is it, how long have you had it set up, what else do you have in it (live and equipment)

Don't panic and start to overfeed. You need to keep an eye on your water readings. That IS a lot of new bio load on a tank.
Try turning on the lights in your room, but turning off the lights on your tank. Then try feeding again. Also, if you add some garlic to their food, sometimes that's enough to get them feeding. Stress is probably why they are not all eating. Give them a day or so and they should be ok.

If this is a real issue (not sure
) then you added way too many fish at one time. Unless your tank is in the 1000 gallon range then you are going to have a problem because you just shocked the bio load in your tank. Expect another mini cycle as the bacteria forms to combat the excess waste and food. I'm guessing that half of those fish won't live 2 weeks. Sorry...

If this is a sizeable tank you should be able to keep them alive with a little extra effort but you will need to rethink your stocklist IMO unless you have in the area of 300ga or better. They will do fine for a while because they are small but they will outgrow any smaller tanks. Right now you need to monitor your levels and follow the post above regarding feeding etc.

I would assume that they would not be used to flakes and wafers. Have you tried nori on a clip. Give some info on your tank. What size is it? How old is it? How much rock? Water readings?

the tank is a 125g. I have twin wet/dry systems going, with dual skimmers. these were the only inhabitants ( except for a few snails and crabs) The specs are great. It was stup by a expert in the area with all cultured rock roughly 2 months ago. Since the post all have seem to started eating. I have a bunch of variety for them but they seem to like the formula 1 pellet. I have the seaweed on the clip for them but they ignore it. Thanks and I will keep you posted

Keep an extremely close eye on your water parameters, you will be causing your tank to cycle again with that much bioload as the bacteria simply cannot reproduce fast enough to handle more than a couple fish at a time. Have plenty of premixed water on hand to change out if you read any ammonia or nitrites or fish start looking stressed/dying.
Generally tangs don't do well in newer tanks as there is no natural food and the tank is unstable, they are also very prone to ich so keep watching for white spots on your fish. Unless this is a fish only tank a wet dry isn't really the best filtration as it is designed to make nitrates out of nitrite and ammonia, you will already have a nitrate problem if all those fish make it as tangs are huge eaters and poopers, they need a constant nori clip as they are grazers. Do some research into quarentine as you may need it very soon and also into the adult sizes and activity levels of naso tangs, they should not be in this tank size after juveniles.
