Question on T5 lighting

I just got a used T5 fixture with 2 blue antic bulbs. The guy at the LFS said that i can still have coral without a 10k bulb or anything is this true?

Always wondered that myself. I know a guy that has 6 bulbs, 4 actinicts, 1 11k, and one pink, and his corals are fines, with all that blue lighting you barely see the 11k.

actinics promote the growth of Zoaxanthellae algae which is present on all corals that get their food from the sun (photosynthetic). The 10k bulbs are to offset the blue distortion in the water. The 10k bulbs will also promote macro algae growth while the actincs will not. Each has its own purpose.
