Question regarding aquarium size

I am buying a saltwater aquarium from someone local tomorrow. My question is that he states it is a 75 gallon saltwater aquairum that is complete. I asked him for the dimensions of the tank, and he stated that it was 48x24x24. I looked on the web, and for that size, all I see are 120 gallon sizes. I even confirmed the dimensions again this morning. Is it possible that this is a 75 gallon, or does he just not realize that his tank is a 120 gallon size. The tank comes with a sump filter, nice pine stand with canopy, protein skimmer, lights, 50lbs of live rock, 2 fish, snails, crabs, etc.

Maybe he is stating 75 gallons after all the rock is in there, basically stating actual 75 gallons of water.

I don't know, but 50ibs of rock isn't going to displace 45gal of water.

I've got a 75 and that's the dimensions Justin mentioned.

pretty cool. i have a 402 gallon system with 382.9 gallons of water flowing through it.

Just thinking of one tank we see from time to time; I wonder how they figure to calculate for plastic skulls in the tank?

Anything that sinks displaces its volume, not its weight, in water.
