got some new things today. I picked up 2 frags for $40. one yellow polyp w/ about 4-6 polyps and a kenya tree that is a about 4 in and has multiple "branches". My question is will the kenya (i thinks its a kenya) actually attach itself to the rock eventually? It seemed limp but has perked up a little and will my shroms and polyps and zoos spread? jeesh if so how long? I have some new mushys but their on the same rock! I also have some zoos that i think r red blue eye. I did not buy them, they just started growing! is this possable? THXS- d
p.s pics to follow eventually when i get to it....

if your conditions are adequate, YES...your polyps should spread....as for the Kenya, just stick it in a hole in the rock....it will attach to it

If the kenya tree came on a block - keep it there till it is healthy and growing - like a month or so. If it was loose - attach it to rock using epoxy putty (reef safe type) or pinch it's stalk in a hole/crack on a rock with a small pebble. shroms & zoos will spread - but it can be a slow opperation, with some adding 1 polyp every month or 2.
Anything in your tank that you did not buy specifically likely hitch hiked in on liverock or somthing else. It's not uncommon to get some polyps to survive thru the curing process. Consider it a bonus

Those 3 little thingys with all the arms look alot like aiptasia anemones to me....if it is, they are a very hardy hitch hiker, but very bad, as they can multiply VERY fast and will sting/damage corals. compare what u see in the tank to some pics of them and if that's what they are - kill them asap, and keep looking for more - they spit out tiny bits of themselves that find a happy spot and begin to grow. Do not grind them, as this just multiplies them - every fragment can become a new one. I inject them with kalkwasser paste. New "babies" start out invisible to the naked eye - but within 7-10 days they usually are the diameter of a pencil.....another week or 2 and they are breeding "spitting out new ones" while still smaller than a dime. Each breeding one can spit out several new ones each day.
Research them if unsure and post results..Frequently it's the bad things that'll survive the curing process/first cycle and if they are aiptasia - get them now.

Those yellow polyps are NOT aiptasia. I have a huge colony in my tank. They're usually referred to as Yellow Colony Polyps: https://www.saltwaterfish.com/Yellow-Polyps_p_425.html
They actually color up really nice under good lighting. I've successfully grown mine under 150watt and 250 watt halides, PC's and T5's. They do spread quickly when they're happy so give them some room. I think they're a great filler coral and they have more movement to them then the usually zoanthids do.
Kenya trees will attach and open up once they're happy. I used to stick the base of branches in empty snail shells, they would attach and then I could use the snail shell as a plug to hold the coral and place it where I wanted it. They suck in when they're moved (like from the LFS to your tank), give them a few days, don't mess with them, they'll open up again.

Sorry about the mixup - I've never had those yellow polyps, and just wanted to ensure the OP didn't have the beginning of a nightmare - as glassrose anemones can surely be. I found out the hard way...lol......Thanks BTLD !

Oh believe me, I know. I have Aiptasia city in my tank, I can't wait to move and get to all the monsters I can't reach at the moment.
