Ihave read a fiew different calculations for figuring out what you need for a heater and the only thing that I know is accurate is that you should use 2 to prevent failure and a deep freez can anyone tell me the proper way to calculate the prper watage to use in a 90g tank remember I will be using 2 :notsure:

honestly i do not know the proper wattage calculation. IME i would say something over 300 watts. i have a 300 watt heater on my 75, and it hardly comes on, and usually is only on for about 45 seconds, and i have not had a temperature flucuation the entire time ive used it..

is it cold where you live because I know that my wife will be turning the heat down when I am not home and it gets very cold up here

ok so i guess my info didnt help.. so i went to google.com and typed in "watts per gallon on aquarium heaters" and guess what .. 50 pages came up it seems with about 2 seconds of looking at links i came up with 3-5 watts per gallon...

did you just type (watts per gallon) I am not used to all this information being so available

so that means that 90 x4=360 watts so with 2 200wat units I should be safe would you agree :thinking:
