:notsure: Not sure I understand what you are asking...
Before you do a water change do two things: Top off with tap water to the desired level and measure your salinity.
If your salinity is off then compensate accordingly with the water change. Otherwise make sure the new water matches the tank's salinity.
You use fresh water to top off because salt doesn't evaporate. You use salt water for water changes because you are removing salt water.
