Anywhere you want. I would maybe place one near the surface or pointed up towards the surface. Hex tanks don't have alot of surface area for gas exchange, and the extra turbulence should help with this some. Also, helps keep "oil slick" look to a minimum. I would definately use more than one PH though.

that is up to you, again. All of my PH's are maxijets, so that is the only way they run, wide open.

I use 2 in my 47G tall tank one at the surface and another about halfway down pointed toward the front wall.

I think what you want to try to accomplish is random flow within the tank. Some flow on the bottom to keep cyano at bay and some towards the top to keep suface water stirred up. You may be able to accomplish this depending on your aquascape by pointin the discarge(s) of your powerhead and return line at each other so in effect they crash together. You have to play with it a bit to see what is best for your setup.
