can i run a 46gallon FO tank with just a power filter and a protien skimmer.
im not gonna have live rock. i have decor rock.

i ran my 55g tank for almost a year without any live rock or even a protein skimmer. so i think you should be just fine. i also had fack decor. just some advise i would say get some live rock its so much nicer and real looking but, thats just my opinion. i think you should be fine

i ran a emerper(spelling) 400 with the carbon filters and a bio-wheel with no problems. idk what the 3 stage would be but i would say if you can afford it get the protein skimmer as well

You can run your tank with that amount of filtration just fine as long as you monitor your feeding habits and water quality and perform water changes as needed to keep your waste levels in check.
