My friend bought a used tank that had a lot of lr in it. He dosent have room for it all so he gave me some. The think is the tank sat with just water in it for 1 yr. No heater no water movement. This rock is dead. It is all white. This rock will not cause a mini cycle will it?

It's possible, but probably not. All the organic material should be gone by now. Give it the nose test. If it smells bad don't use it.

Hey RockinAR the tank was like that from the people we bought it from. My friend dosen't have it like than.

i agree with guy smell it if it reeks, get a big rubbermaid tub a cheap heater and ph and start curign it again. if it doesnt stink, it should be fine and fully cured, even though most of the life is gone.
