Question's about Emerald crabs.

How big do these get, I have one that is about 2" wide with a 4" arm span. I found him the other night, scared the crap out of me.

wow, that's about the biggest i've seen.
mine got about that big. but over the last year my three emerald crabs have disappeared, i think my nitrates got out of hand when i was on vacation.
good job, i dont think they get too much bigger, but i could easily be wrong

i think thats about their size limit but who really knows let me see if i got a pic for ya!

a guy at the LFS had one that was 5" across. He had to kill it because it was cecimating things in his tank. I guess anything can get aggressive if big enough.

Do you guys emrald crabs get along with shrimp and other crabs? I'm thinking about getting one but i don't want it to kill my coral banded shrimp.:notsure:

most places only have small crabs and they get along fine with the CB shrimp. My CB shrimp started out as a killer. The emeralds start out as algae eaters.

Some of my small emeralds became skunk shrimp food. It's kinda sad when you see them being eaten alive.

CB Shrimp.... I don't like CB's to much, personally i believe they are shrimp killers. As long as you dont put any other shrimp in they should be fine, but i would get rid of the CB. BTW the emeralds are fine with other fish/inverts (primarily algae eaters!!!)
