If you want to go filterless. I would suggest doing water changes often. Stir up the dirt in there with a turkey baster and take out about half a gallon or so. Maybe every week or biweekly. The other advantage you won't have is carbon which can help to absorb impurities if you have any problems the live rock can take care of. It can work though. I've just never seen and aquarium without a filter. Maybe if you can swing for the 7 gallon bow? As far as bulb get the coralife bulb i told you about. It's enough for your tank to grow low light things....
