Questions about my cycle

Hello everyone!!!
So I am not totally new to this hobby, I used to have a 55 gallon a couple years ago but had to let it go when I got preggo. Now I am back into it but have some questions about my cycle! I have a 24 gallon Aquapod with 25lbs live rock and 15libs live sand. I set it up a week ago (also added som live bacteria), but I never noticed a cycle like I did last time. This time all I have noticeing going up is my nitrates a bit. Could it be possible that I had a mini cycle or am I being impatient??

My cycle last time took only a week and a half. Also I threw a cunk of fish food it there to see if the ammonia would spike but nothing.. Does anyone have an idea what might be happening? Thanks so much!!

Give it a few more days, but it could easily have been that short. Even then, I still thinks its worth aging the tank for a few weeks so you can deal with any initial algae or diatom issues that come up with no livestock in the tank.

Thanks!! I am planning on waiting awhile yet, I want it to be good and healthy Was just getting antsy not knowing what was going on Another question though, I am starting to get loverly brown alage, do you think it is safe for a a few snails in there? Thank you again!!
