Question's

 Yesterday a coworker had mention to me that they knew some one who had a 125 gallon tank for saltwater and was getting rid of it. So of course firts I asked how much and he told me free
So I was extatic we went picked up at the guy's house and brought home. As soon as we got home we noticed that the stand was no good,so we where like fine we'll buy one or have one built no biggie then we started examining more closely and we think we need to replace the whole system (I think the only thing that can be saved is the tank itself (glass)):notsure: So know I'm thinking of buying the wetdry, protien skimmer and everything else I might, but the thing is that when I bought my current fish tank I purchased it a a fish store and they told everthing I needed. So I'm kind of lost and was wondering if any one may have any suggestion's to what I should buy or if I should even intent on doing anything with other than get rid of it myself.

125 gallons what do i need to make it function correctly .:help:

First of all is this tank drilled or not?
Second I would fill it with water and watch it for a week.
Third what kind of tank do you want this to be?
If a reef, then I would consider having this tank drilled for internal overflows. I would do this before you purchase anything else. In this way if it breaks, since it was free then your really out nothing but the price of trying to drill it. Always check to see if it is tempered glass before drilling.
Then I would look into a wet/dry or sump or sump/fuge combo ideas which could be made out of a 55 gallon tank that should fit underneath the 125. A great DIY project.
