check out planet pet in hurst. They are pretty good. I have found with most places around here you need to know what you want before you go in.

you guys........ there is a place called Aquatic solutions on I-35 & Valwood next to a military supply. They have a huge selection of fish and corals. Not cheap though. There is a good place in Plano off Parker & 75, Aquatic Designs, a bunch of cool kids run the place. All shippments come in on Tues. Really good selection but better prices. They will also order anything. If your after a GREAT coral only store, Saltwater Solutions off O'Conner and 183. They are expensive but have three huge shallow tanks with hundreds of stuff on display. He has this Max clam that I want that is seriously 12 inches long for $200.
Hope this helps. Aquatic Design is the best in my opinion.......

Hey Dallasites! I've gotten the best advice from DNA. Their prices are usually a bit higher, but I would definately talk to them first.
I went in the other day and the owner happened to be working the floor and I learned so much from him in 5 minutes. He recommended products that were better, CHEAPER, and told me about the "junk" products even though the store carried them.
I really got the sense that he was more concerned w/ me being successful than making a profit. On the other hand Planet pet will usually throw in some free macroalgae and other goodies if you frequent there alot. They are also usually good about taking trade ins or bringing something back.

I personally don't like dealing with DNA. They have a decent selection but I went in pricing all the components of my set up prior to purchasing and found they were double the price in everything. No kidding, double..... I also played dumb (ha) one visit and an older experienced salesman tried to feed me some crap that I know to be false. Intentionally misleading a customer to rack up the porfit sends my business elsewhere. YOU ARE PAYING FOR THEIR SETUPS AND THE NAME...............

I always get a bag of "goodies" from Planet pet. Right now they have mushroom rocks for 11.99 a pound. I picked one up today with about 30 mushrooms on it and it was only one pound and on 20% off day.
I found I do better if I get my equipment on line I just get odds and ends from the fish store.

It is Only Wednesday, and only during the month of December.
They are on Harwood, but I don't remember the cross street. Easiest way to get there is take harwood off of 121 south from DFW, and head west. It will be a few miles down on the south side of Harwood. Big Bicycle shop right next to it. Can't miss it.

Wow double huh? They are a bit higher but I've never seen double! I got a nice used 58 gallon w/ stand and a 4 bulb powercompact there for $230. So maybe one guy gave you some untrue advice, but on the whole they always seem far more knowledgeable than the all the others I've been to. Anyhow, just my opinion.
