quick-fliter powerhead

I'm thinking of running 3 or 4 powerheads (402s probably) in my 55g aggressive tank to move water and get better flow. Anyone use the quick-filter attachments for powerheads, how well do they perform with regards to water polishing and how much maintenance/replacement do they require. Always looking for a cleaner tank and clear water.
Or am I on the wrong track here? Attachments are only like $10, so $40 for four, or would this money be a waste.
Currently just running two Millenium 3000 HOBs, but plenty of LR (have wet-dry ready to go once tank moves in six months).

I run two in my 55gal, what I did after using the filter that comes with the attatchment I replaced them with sponges, so that they don't have to be replaced, just rinsed out every now and then.

I use them cause they fit into my 9.5 mag pump. they work very well for filtering, but the quick filter cartridges cost only 3 or 4 bucks for two. The plastic part cost around 8 to 10 $

Yes, it's the plastic part that I wanted, I put the sponge in the plastic part.
