Quick Help If Possible

My dad just did a water change and the salt in the bag was hard (he kinda broke it up and mixed his water the salt wouldnt dissolve like normal when he was done and filled his tank you could see some pieces floating all over... the level checks out but hmmm what do ya think

Most people let it sit for 24-48 hrs with a power head circulating the water before adding it to the tank. FYI

I use crusty salt, when I accidently forget to tighten the lid down on my bucket it gets crusty some times, its fine IMO but he should have made sure it was completly dissolved though. without fully dissolving there are now still chemical reations balancing out in your aquarium. the danger would lie in one of the "flakes" landing on or getting injested by something, either chemicaly burning it or making it sick. or in unstable water parmeters as the stuff disolves.

You may be in for a surprise. Be ready to change out for more freshwater if the salinity climbs too high as the remaining dissolves.
It is generally good practice not to mix salt direct into the tank just fyi. I learned my lesson the hard way.
