quick help plz

ok im dumb but hear go's... my tank is up and almost donE with cycle i got red mushrooms comming on wensday,,, right now i got 80 lbs of cc every 1 is saying that i will regrete it in 6 months . so i have to change it now if at all. SHOULD I GO GET SAND??? OR LEAVE CC??? :help:

well i got sand and cloudy as all hell, but i think i made the right move thanks guys

Hey fishman did you have to pull the cc out and when putting in sand did you take out all your live rock and live stock? Doing the same thing I got a bad nitrate problem from cc after 2 years.

yes i pulled out all my rock to remove the cc i did leave about 1 inch of cc over about 1/4 of my tank but covered it with 3-4 inch's of sand
