Quick Mushroom Question

Can someone tell me mushrooms spread like zoos or do they grow and get bigger like leathers? For example if I have one mushroom will that mushroom multiply or will it just get bigger? Does the same go for ricordeas?

rics are mushrooms. mushrooms can propagate 2 ways, unless you help them along.

they will either move somewhere else, and leave behind little shrooms, or they will grow new mouths and split.

you can take a big mushroom cut it at the base from the rock then take the mushroom cut it into pie pieces like you do a pizza and then throw it in a little plastic cup with some netting over the cup in a low flow area and those pieces will all become mushrooms...... I just take a razor and cut mine loose at the base and cram the piece I cut onto one of my rocks and I have like 200 mushrooms in my 72 gallon bow front.

I have a question when you cut the mushroom do you have to cut from their to remove or can you just cut them with the razor while their in there original base instead of cutting them from the base and place them into a new base.

you dont have to remove them from the base. you can cut pieces off of it or you can cut the whole top off the foot (it will grow back) then cut the top into pieces. all will become shrooms

Oh okay thanx. Another question about that so if I cut my mushroom into four section and didn't cut it off the each piece of the mushroom and just let it gorw where there original base can I do that and just let it grow themself. Also if I cut them to frag will it survice.

OK i had a question too.
ok. laughs. i only have 2 polyps. i want to try this, but i am terrified of killing it. does this usually work? is there anything special i need to do to the tank? can you tell me more about the cup with a net thingy? Also, (sorry, im inquisitive) can i just put the piece on a rock and it will anchor?

oh yeah, and do you cut through the mouth?

when you cut it like a pizza cut it through the mouth. Don't worry really my tank has like 200 mushrooms in it and I have did just about everything to try to kill one from ripping them off the rock to cutting one into 10 pieces and throwing it back into the tank I can't get rid them.
