Ok, today when i woke up i saw my dog face was puffed and stuck on teh strainer of my power head so i turned of the power head and slowly helped him out of there and he looked fine. After school i come back and his stomach is sucked inside and it lookes like hes been beaten. The fish dont touch him or get near so thats not it, I tried putting food and he comes out from the smell but doesnt eat. he can barley swim.
Please tell me whats wrong with him, is this something they do after being puffed??? :help:

Sorry, but the best advice I can give to you is to put something on the powerhead to avoid him getting sucked up again. A sponge should work pretty good. Hope he gets better.

treat his tank with melafix for 7 days add 1 tsp per every 10 gal this will help if he has any injuriers and stop infection.you realy do need a power hean in the tank this keep the water moving prpoerly for him as another suggested place something over the inlet to the power head like a prefilter sponge

I saw a pic on one thread that showed a practice golf ball stuck over the intake. No sponge to clean. Looks like puffer went into reverse (vacuum). Hopefully he's just a little freaked out from the liposuction treatment.

I have a pup, too. Try dropping some selcon in the tank. It's a liquid vitamin. What do you normally feed him? Mine love whole frozen krill and live crabs. Hopefully he will make it through. Mine fell out of the tank when I was moving tanks. He inhaled a lot of air, before I noticed him MIA... That was to be fatal. He was overinflated & his butt floated up. He worked really hard to swim & had to go in the ship to sleep...It took about a month to recover. Treat your baby delicately for the next few day. Keep up the vitamins. He looks to be in good health...He can still pull out of it. He probably got the AIR sucked out of him. That is how he inflates.....

Put a bio-ball on the bottom of the powerhead or a prefilter like suggested earlier.
Keep impeccable water quality and make sure to feed a varied diet with 5 or more different foods offered. He'll come back around if he's still alive today.
