quick prizm skimmer question

I just bought a prizm skimmer (the backpack kind) for my tank and put it on today and im just wondering if there is any way to quiet this thing down at all??? Its so loud I cant even think when im in the same room with it!! It looks like the only adjustment on it is the flow valve which I have tried adjusting but it still stays loud as hell. They claimed this was a quiet skimmer!!! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you put the air inlet hose back on the open

on the collection cup? This way it draws air through the collection cup and the gurgling noise dissipates in there instead of the room.

I had the same problem! tried everything and no mater what I did ,I can still hear it! they are just loud skimmers IMO.
So I got rid of it.......sold it cheap.
