Quick question...

I just got my tank started - I have my water and salinity right on, I just added my Caribsea aragonite sand (looks very nice!). Is it normal for the water to be cloudy for over 6 hours? I did rinse the sand minimally, per instructions on the bag. I'm wondering if I run my Emperor 400 (with just the carbon/filter media - no biowheels) if that will help clear it up faster. I don't have anything except my heater running right now - probably best to let the sand settle - I'm just wondering if it would clear faster running the filter...any insight?
Tank is a 60 gallon, I put in an average 2" deep aragonite across the bottom.

Yes run the filter constantly, you need to aerate the water. Yes the water will be cloudy for a WEEK :) Its normal.

I would just keep it off the glass and rocks as much as possible and change out filter pads regularly if you use them. as your cycle goes its course the bacteria will gather on these little particuls and weigh them down. so until they get enough saturation the will be suspended. sometimes it will take up to a week or so to settle out but your stil at risk for sand storms if it gets stirred up for a while so youll have to watch out for those but no biggie.
