give him time and dont stress him out more. there is a chance he can dispel the rest of the air. Are you sure its air? they are not supposed to suck in air though.

Just give him time and don't stress him out. That's the best thing that you can do at this point...
And pray.

hold him in your hand and softly push on the bump a few times...then hold him where his face is looking straight up and shake him gently....all under water of course
ive done this a few times with my puffer that has a bad habit of eating bubbles

For future reference, NEVER move a puffer out of water. They need to be in water at all times. Use a specimen container (costs about $10) or a ziploc bag.

This happened a couple of times to my porcupine pufferfish for a day or two and he eventually coughed it all out of him. Like Scott says on his SWF.com videos, patience.
I am very sorry to hear that you flushed him, IMO my fish will go "belly-up", or down on their own, before I will discard them. I believe in a fight till the bitter end. Sometimes there is still alot of life left after the suffering is over.

I had a post a few weeks back about my Porky who got his head stuck in an intake tube. He looked horrible and i thought for sure he would lose an eye. After A couple weeks of laying around and being hand fed vitamin soaked foods he has made almost a complete recovery. I couldn't of imagined flushing him until he went(belly up). Just my .02 cents

Definitely didn't need to flush him. Many puffers blow up and take time to come back down to size. at my lfs, they had one that blew up and stayed that way for 7 days and finally reduced in size on it's own....You probably flushed a fish that would have lived.

I only flushed him because I was told there was nothing I could do and it was floating belly up. I don't know why everyone is coming up with advice now but I could have used that a while ago. If everyone was telling me that I did the wrong thing than why was I told to do it by everyone in the first place? I don't know why I'm getting lectured now if I'm just doing what everyone said.

Only ONE person said he is a gonner, everyone else offered advice.
You jumped the gun my friend, animals are pretty resiliant creatures and have survived for millions of years on the own. They can surprise you from time to time with there ability to overcome an injury.
