Quiet One on CL

I am using a QO 2200 for a CL pump running externally and was wondering how to prime the thing. I will have (1) 1" intake and (2) 3/4" returns. If i completely submerge the drains and returns, and blow water into it would it prime it?

I have a quiet one on a closed loop....I just poured water down the tubing with a measuring cup initially
before connecting it and running it...It stays primed when I shut it down because I use ball valves on both intake and output

hmmmm i never thought of a quiet one. i used a mag 5 and built my CL pretty much exactly the same as meelves on his site and i must say i love it. gives me great flow and i never have to worry about repriming it

I have added a Tee fitting to the top of my closed loop at the point it goes over the top of the tank. One leg of the Tee has a threaded plug installed. When I need to prime I can pull the plug, pour in water to fill the loop, install the plug (reminder installing the plug is crucial:).. and it is ready to turn on. A Closed loop would not need re-primed after being shut off as it will not siphon water or loose its water. The loop would only need re-primed if the water in the loop were to be drained, accidently or on purpose.

the only reason why i decided not to use a mag is becasue it says not to use externally in a marine aquarium. also i have heard that they leak most of the time and it takes 2-3 of them b4 you get one that is sealed correctly
