quietest return pump?

what do you consider the quietest submersible return pump for my sump that pumps 350-500 gph?
have a resun that pumps 550-1000gph now but way too loud.

I have a mag 5 pumps (500gph) in sump cant hear it , outside sump slight hum with doors closed can't hear it. All the mag pumps are very quiet.

I have a 1 inch return hose but the nozzle in tank is smaller,could this cause pump to hum?

You're restricting the water flow going from a 1 inch down to lesser in the tank which might cause hum do to the pump has to work harder because of the increased pressure. If you're using a Mag Drive it shouldn't matter they are very quiet until they wear out bushing and impeller starts to wooble. Mag Drives are easy to take apart clean impeller and see if hum goes away or lessons :happyfish :happyfish :happyfish
