HELPPP

Why don't you try more hardy fish at first. If you are a begginer why go for fish which are finiky about temp, water conditions, etc... Go for things that are cheaper to buy and go from there. I know it stinks to have fish die on you but the more expensive they are the more devistating it is. I have started out with 2 damsels and two clowns. If i want something else then i can trade those gys in when i am ready. just start with baby steps until you become more expirienced. Don't give up though, if you have had it for a year then you seems to really love the hobby. good luck, and hope you don't leave us

A quick, instant death of so many creatures is doubtful to be anything related to water chemistry or lighting, otherwise I would expect a gradual decline and steady drop off, not a quick death. I would place blame on the anemone. They release gastric juices when they die. A LFS about two years ago lost an entire tank to a single dead anemone. The fish suddenly darted and laid on their sides, most of which died instantly. A few breathed hard for about twenty minutes or so, then they passed on.

if the case of a dying anenome can crash tanks so quickly, how can so many people continue to hold them? things die from a veriety of reasons all the time, so how much time does one have from the time an anenome meets his maker till the release of gastric juices / toxins etc? or is everyone that has one living life on the edge, and at any moment that thing could die and crash there tank instantly???
on a similar note, not to kick you when you are down, yupi1982, but if you do decide to throw the towel, ill take your tank off your hands as im in the area.

I would guess they continue to have anemones because they are not dead. If the anemone ruptures after death and releases enough toxins into an enclosed environment, then it is going to cause death. I don't keep anemones because I don't want any problems. I've heard too many horror stories and have seen crashed tanks on several occasions. If a fish dies you get ammonia, not toxins or gastric juices (except I guess for a cowfish and probably a few others).

i bought two polifilters and place them into my wet dry, things seem to be in place right now , but my bleny and my blue tang still have the skin problem ...is like eating their skins i dont know what medication to buy .....the other fishes are fine, my yellow tang red coris , sailfing and clown are doing fine !!
and ophiura is right i will be more ccareful ,so i dont overstock my tank again!!

Another question , does mushroms, polyps and gorgonians are consider as plants that absorb nitrates....or they dont help on that particular issue??? :happyfish

you need to quarentine those fish as the new problem seems parasitic. pictures would greatly help your chances of saving these two fish but it seems like you may have (i'm no expert)..Argulus....or... Lernia or other protozoan parasites...maybe hexamita?

No, they are corals. They do not remove nitrates like a microalgae would.
