Sorry to hear it. Blennies do have wonderful personalities. Once your tank settles from all you've done with it, maybe get another one?

He was starting to waste away to nothing over the last couple of weeks. I always offer a variety of foods including nori and other seaweed. He never took to them. Just a bummer. He is the last LMB that I will own. I'm going to go with a tail spot next (I think).

Good choice. That is what I am going to get next for my tank. A tailspot blenny. It seems like everytime I need to place an order, they are out of stock! I really want one though. They are so cute. :)

Sorry Krista - I really miss mine as well - they are cool fish. I replaced mine with a bi-coloured blennie - and he east all the frozen food I send at them. He has a lot of character as well, just a suggestion.

Sorry to hear this Gemmy. Your experience sounds just like ours (and Meow's):

We keep his obit pic as the wallpaper on this laptop; the woman still often says "Goodnight Herb" when shutting down. We came -->||<-- close to buying another one yesterday, but I wouldn't want to watch another one waste away.
If we do ever get another one (don't think I can avoid it), I will try cultivating "HA rocks" in the 'fuge for it to graze on.
On another note...Monday night=payback!

Slice what are ha rocks?
HA=Hair Algae, or GHA=Green Hair Algae
In another thread, a couple of us were discussing the possibility of LMBs needing more nutrition than they get in algae-free tanks, only eating nori sheets and frozen foods. We wondered if one could keep a couple of small rocks in the refugium until they are covered in algae (Hair Algae or other) to rotate into the DT for our LMB to graze on. Someone else, I *think* it was Corey, suggested those who run algae scrubbers could dry the screen cleanings and serve to LMBs.

Did your guys' blennies also take to meaty foods as well or just greens?
I thought mine would grab some of the frozen food that I would drop in. He was very active in my tank up until Friday night.
Here is the last pic I took of him on Wednesday:

Hmmm...well I hope that doesn't happen to mine very soon. Time will tell I suppose. Mine also eats pretty much anything that's put in front of him.
