Looking to purchase a R.O. unit. I would like to get one thats easy to use. Does anyone know how these units get hooked up. I don't want to call in a plumber that gets expensive and if their a hassle to operate I know I won't use it.

Many people have them installed right under a kitchen sink. We here are plumbing-impaired, so ours just sits on the laundry room floor next to the utility sink. It has an intake (simple screw on valve to the faucet) an output (pours into an 18 gal rubbermaid) and a waste line (just lays in the utility tub to drain). Believe me, if I could do this with just one visit to the hardware store (for that valve to screw on to the faucet) ANYONE can set these up. It is such a luxury not to be hauling gallons from the store.
Good Luck!

When I bought mine I bought the connector for the outside hose too. They are very easy to operate!!! If you can setup a tank, you can operate an RO/DI!!

Check on one of the major online auction sites for a 100 gpd 5 stage RO/DI unit for reef keepers. Starting (and ending) bid should be $135. It is complete with all connections from direct pipe to faucet to hose. Replacement filter set is $15. Have made a couple hundred gallons with it and the TDS meter still reads 0 on the end product.

I just bought a 75gpd from h&b. Very easy install.... i put mine in the utility room right after my softner. Total install time was less than 30 min. I just open the faucet and fill up my 50 gal drum and it is ready for mixing......... Once they are installed the only thing you would have to do is change the filters and membrane every 6 months to a year depending on your water quality and your useage.....
