ok so "Rocky" thinks everything is food. he thinks its always food time. he sees me, and follows and waits. it was all fun and games until i put the cleaning crew in. he seemed to be attacking the turbos' eyes/ feelers. also he tries to pick at the blue eyed hermit, but he is too fast receeding into his shell. i havent seen the raccoon actually get a piece of the snail but he see the feeding lunges.
so my question is: do raccoons normally eat these inverts?
also more importantly:
i have witnessed this same fish , one or two times do a gill scrape on the sand. i was told that it meant he has a gil parasite and that i need to remove and medicate him. i set up my hospital tank last night for various reasons. is this definite that he has that parasite or do they sometimes do it as normal behavior? if so, is there a minimum time i should wait before removing him? or maybe a link on infor about hispital tanks?

Racoons BF are not reef safe. They eat anything. Corals, invert and even anemones. They naturly feed at night when most inverts do. As far as scrasping, not sure, My copperband often turns on its side and some times upside down when searching under rocks, cliffs ect. for live food.

my tank is just SWLR. no coral. does this mean you cant have inverts in a tank with raccoon BF at all? or you do and feed them enough and hope for the best??

my tank is 90 gal. and I have 1 raccoon bf and it eats everything in sight.
I looked up raccoon bf and it eats clams. I went to the store and got some clams
and it is all gone in 2 days. I've tanken out the empty shell. I'm hoping everything
else will be safe. bf are mostly night time feeders. You will see them eat the
clam durniing the day. I hope this helps out a little.
