raising magnesium & alkalinity

What product do you think is the best one for raising magnesium and alkalinity? Is magnesium sulphate (epsom salts) o.k.? And how about baking soda? Will I be asking for trouble to use these readily available products?
Yes I do regular water changes and I use Tropic Marine. Once I get them where I want them I am assuming (?) that the regular water changes will keep them there.
Opinions?
magnesium is currently at 1100 and alkalinity at 2

yes, they are both safe and the cheaper way to go...
those are what i use in my ( actually RHF's) diy 2 part additive do a good search on google on diy 2 partsolution
