Superbuffer, PH adjusters, etc... should not be used to raise the PH. ALL PH buffers add alkalinity. They can be added to raise and maintain alkalinity... and in turn help with the PH... but keep in mind when adding alkalinity, calcium also needs to be added to maintain the balance between the two. ALWAYS test first and then adjust if needed.
As Bang Guy refered to above, CO2 has a lot to do with PH. Pour circulation, a high room CO2 content, calcium reactors, etc can cause a build up of CO2 in your system. Excess CO2 will lower the PH. Other than that, alkalinity is the key to a stable PH.
