Horses will play in current. Mine do. JD has provided good info. I have nothing to add except I will disagree on the starfish...but if you do add one you have to kept the starfish well feed. I also do not use a feeding station as mine prefer to "chase" their food from what I have seen. Start with captive bred you will have a greater chance of success. And use as big of a tank as possible. This will help keep your tank water cleaner for the horses.
If you can't have a fuge for some reason I would also place some chaeto amongst the live rock. It will help ion pod reproduction with the horses love to feed on. Feed frozen mysis shrimp with selcon as a vitamin additive soaked in it.
