yes, threw him back in the ocean. Would love to have one of those, but they are nearly impossible to keep contained.

Bogue Inlet Pier!! I fish there every summer, Emerald Isle is were the in-law family vacation is every year. Beautiful place, but not much to do besides swim and fish.

Looks like a fairly large one. Even if you could keep it contained probably have to be a good sized tank. Seems I have read they don't live that long, a couple of years maybe????

Aww, poor little guy. Kinda neat though. o_O I caught a flounder onces by accident and freaked out cause I didn't know how to hold it to unhook it. I wouldn't know what to do with that guy. lol

I'm not sure about their lifespan in captivity. All I remember reading about was how they can escape most any enclosure with the slightest gap or opening. I personally do not know anyone who has owned one.
