Rate My Flow Rate

Ok, I was surprised this weekend when I tested the pump in my sump to figure out just how strong it was when pumping up 6 feet of head.
To my dismay it pumped at a rate of 120GPH. I'm starting over with my 75 gal FOWLR (plus simple inverts) and have a goal of at least 750GPH for flow rate.
My plan is (was) to have the following for flow:
1) Sump/Fuge - 120GPH
2) Powerhead #1 - 400GPH
3) Powerhead #2 - 400 GPH
= 920 GPH
So, I guess I'm asking if the above is viable while most of the flow is coming from powerheads inside the tank?
Do I need my sump pump to be more powerful???

circulation is just circulation. in other words moving it around in the tank is good but, most of your filtering is done in the sump. I would try starting with a bigger sump pump

wow. kip are you saying the total of all powerheads in the tank should be 900-1200 or are you saying each one should be 900-1200 each?

so if have have three powerheads at 900 each and a sump at 900, that give me 3600gph which = 48x's turnover rate.
sounds high. i must be missing something :)

ah. thats it. i was thinking you meant 900gph when you said 900's. got it then.
well, i guess i'll have to go out and get a new pump for my sump. i am building a new one and having the pump return branch off and send a small to my fuge to turnover 6-8 x's.
thanks for the feedback!
