raw shrimp

If i put a raw shrimpin my tank to acclimate it how long should i leave it in for?

Well, about a month should do it. Take water readings to test your tank thru the cycle. Also, how big is your tank?

30 gal tank. so leave the shrimp in their for a month eh? i have 1 damsel too. the guy at the lfs convinced me to cycle with three damsels. 2 died the other is a tough guy.

I only left my shrimp in for 3 days and my ammonia is off the charts.

I have a 72 gallon bow with a 20gallon sump, 5in DSB, 70-100 lb LR.
How long should I keep the shrimp in my tank?
How many shrimp should I put in my tank?
Can I put too many shrimp in my tank?

If I was cycling a 30 - I would either cycle with damsels OR raw shrimp - BUT not both.
Although the one remaining damsel seems like a "tough guy" even damsels are not completley bullet-proof.
They are indeed hardy fish - but they're still a fish.
The ammonia generated from decomposing shimp may kill this last damsel too.
IMO - it's best to pick a method - use it - but don't mix any fish with raw shrimp when cycling.
If you choose the raw shrimp method - maybe take the damsel back to the store ?
