I was thinking about getting a ray for my new tank that will be up in a few weeks. Does anyone know if it would be good with a puffer, two triggers (huma and niger), tangs, a lunar wrasse? What ray should I look at and what price are they around? Any info would be good and pics would be even better. o and he will be going in a 180 with few rocks and a very soft sandy bottom.
thanks

That combination will definately not work with a ray, puffers and triggers are the worst choice of fish to put with rays or sharks. As far as tank size, 180 is the bare minimum for the smallest species of rays.

ok I thought that this would be ok because the ray on Dr. Fosters (sorry swf) and they say that they get to be a max of 1 foot. and the puffers get to be 1 foot and 1 inch. So I thought that a ray would be fine. Sorry and help me if i am wrong on the info. sounds fishy to me.

I do not know what ray you're looking at that gets to be 1' but the reason that rays are not good with those fishes is because rays get nip at most of the time when they rest on the bottom sometimes their eyes get poke out by other fish when it's sticking out of the sand. IMO

Harlequinnut,
ok well now that you are here, I am getting a helequin tusk soon and i was wondering if there any things i need to know before getting one. I think I am getting one from australia. Well he be bad with the lunar wrasse and should I put him in a tank and add the lunar wrasse later?

IMO, it is better to add the Lunare wrasse first cause I think the Harlequin is the more aggresive of the two. If you do it this way I think they should get along fine since they are different in shape and appearance. HTH
