Do you have any luck with the shaving brush plants in the fuge?
Every time I try to use them to help the system, they end up being mauled by snails/crabs, and they're dead and decaying in a matter of a week or two. And then rather than helping with denitrification, they become nitrates.

I have had very good luck keeping those and the flat plants alive in the fuge.. I dont have crabs in the fuge but i do have snails.. which do just what you say.. they maul over the plants. This doesnt seem to hurt the plants though as they continue to grow. I have actually gotten to the point where I have to remove some of the shaving brushes, and flat plant sprouts because they grow to fast for the 20g fuge.
I have a 120g Tang tank that love to recieve this as food once a week :)

Thanks all.. The fuge really isnt that big of a project. It takes care of itself. I just pick from the garden of grub when I want to feed my tangs :)
Thanks again for the comments.. It makes this hobby even more rewarding to have you guys being part of it.

Actually im one of the lucky ones.. I have a LFS here that actually "IS" good, and carries the equipment for the bulkhead in his store. As far as all the elbows, pipes, tubing, valves and what not.. I bought this all at Lowes hardware ... in the plumbing section..

I recently got the go ahead from the misses to make a disply/fuge to keep her sea horses in. I found this thread from a link in the plumbing 101 thread and was looking to see how the plumbing and set up was but the pictures are all missing.

Can the modirators fix the missing pictures please. Or would it be to much to ask to start a new thread with updated pictures so we can see how it has unfolded and developed over time? Good bad or uggly your experiance would be a great tool for the rest of us. Thanks

Problems associated with the recent site uopgrade have resulted in a loss of older pics....but the owners are aware of the problem and I hope in time the old pics will return.
