but don't fish jump out or some crawl out? Here I have been soo stressed out as I didn't leave enough room behind the tank for my skimmer so it's on the side and I was worried about the glass not fitting on? So you keep an open top huh? Thanks for responding to me! This is soo stressful!! I so appreciate the help of experienced people!!

Welcome to the forum! Its nothing to stress about!
83 really ain't that bad, my tank heats up almost that much too.
a lot of people keep eggcrate as a top to allow for gas conversions yet keep the critters inside.

I am a complete noob to this hobby. The ones that posted above me have helped me A LOT.
I have an open top with a lot of surface flow, looks like the water is boiling. My first fish was a pair of small clowns and they dont go near the surface except to eat. I also added 6 blue leg hermit with them.
Hot in Montana? Come down to Georgia and feel the heat and humidity. lol
Relax and enjoy this hobby. I research more than I would admit and even more after I add something to my tank. I need to add a screen on the top of my tank and guess I will have to order clear screen online.
my temp stays around 81 but is within a degree all day. Check your water params to keep them in check. When they shift or fish get stressed is when you have problems.

Lights are depending on what you want to keep - corals, anemones, etc...
