Well the near disaster post happened just 1 hr before the 2 year old nailed the 10gallon freshwater with god knows what and cracked the side out of it. Starting to wonder if The 75 will be safe

remind me not to have kids :)
i think it is a little bit harder for someone to crack a 75 vs a 10 gallon. i have lost count of how many of those 10 gal tanks i killed accidently while i was growing up.

Thank goodness your child is alright!
That would be a big concern to me too, if your 2yr old breaks the glass on a 75g, that's alot of stuff coming down on a small kid!
Sorry I can't help you with this, but I'm glad your kid is okay!

All is well with the kids. Their feelings are hurt (their butt just a little), but nothing came apart. I had a roll of 6 inch wide duct tape laying around (note I am from wv and always keep some) and just sealed it all up until today when I can replace tank.

sorry to hear about the broken tank! :( between that and socal earthquakes, children is the reason i went with acrylic tanks many years ago. i couldn't afford to have a tank grenade before my eyes or have a ph.call at work about the "....honey?? i have something to tell you... the boys...while they were playing...." "YOU SAID WHAATTT!!?? " ;) <img src="graemlins//silly.gif" border="0" alt="[silly]" /> be cool.
