Real quick question

So I switched from CC to LS last night. My water is extreemy cloudy. I was just wondering about how long it usually takes for a 29gal aquarium with 40lbs of LS to clear up? Also if I should be running my filter and powerhead? The powerhead actually died right after I added the sand. I unplugged my filter just in case (I didn't want it dying on me as well but if it is needed, I'll plug it back in). I don't have any fish or LR in the tank yet.

Our 100g took nearly a week, but if your sand wasn't real fine it should clear up in a couple days.
I would leave the filter running and rinse it after the water settles down.
My internet connection stinks.
I've sent this stupid message about a dozen times now!!!!!!!

40lbs of ls is a aweful lot for a 29 g, with sw ur only suppose to have 1 in of ls on the bottom. i would do something about that

I prefer a deep sand bed of 3 inches or more.

Hey Hopeless your PH might not be dead it might just have sand in it. Tear it down and clean it out real good and it just might work. Glad you switched to LS, also I like a 2 to 3 inch sand bed. IMO

Try placing a couple of small peices of LR. That will help the drifting sand catch to. After a couple days then take a turkey baster and spray the LS off your LR

hey I have read that their is a danger zone between 3-5 inches of sand. Any truth to that, because of that I went out and got more sand, and now I'm sitting at about 5-6 inches, plus I have burrowers.
