i bought a filter online pd.$415.00 came with broken piece's and missing piece's i have had the filter in the box sitting in my storage room 4 6 mo. because it wasn't a necessity it was an upgrade and free time is an issue (3 kids 2 dogs a wife and many hrs. at work) (now i know what your thinking i might of broke it moving it ) not possible it had so much foam wrapped around it u could drop or throw it lightly and it wouldn't brake
i think someone broke it wile packaging it and still sealed and shipped it what the *%#@&^*happened to taking pride in your work! and i cant even call to rectify the situation til mon. (busns hours)
so now I'll sit and stew while i actually have the time to set it up
can u guys believe it !!!!

Yeah, and no Football either. If you've had it for 6 months, you're going to have a rough time convincing anyone it was their fault. I think I've bought over 95% of my fish stuff online over the last 10 years or so. I have never received anything that was damaged, but I still inspect every box as soon as I get it. In fact, I hate to shop and buy everything I can online, Christmas gifts included, and think people do a great job both at the origin and the shipping company. Even the Post Office is so much better, now that they have competition. Sorry, I just can't imagine tossing $400 worth of stuff into storage without inspecting it. Sounds like those house Gremlins again.

Is it a wet/dry filter? If so I can almost bet what kind. I bought a brand new filter from a company on E--Y & 3 came in broke before I finally received a good one.I though EXACTLY what you are thinking about it being broke form the factory,and I called them and told them so. They assured me even with ALL the foam that is used,if dropped just right it will break
.I have 2 of them still in my basement

Also just another note: I don't know what size you have but if it is with the dual overflows,the one CA pump they give you will not be enough.I have a 125 and bought the filter for a 175gal.Your u-tubes will always have air and there is not enough flow. I had to have two 2200 pumps to get it to work properly. I hate to say it,but I really don't care for this filter.

Yea,sorry for your misfortune.
I got lucky and opened mine 2 days before their required deadline.It still really set me back on my tank set up as I started this in July and didn't get going til September because of the filter.
What is actually broke ?
My 1st one was the section that held in the bio balls. The 2nd was cracked in 2 places on the outsides. I noticed the cracks were not all the way through,and filled it up and it held water.
The missing parts can at least be ordered,but it still sucks to have to pay twice.

Truthfully I was not impressed with the Company service either.
Hopefully it will all work out good for you.

same thing the piece that holds the bio balls on the return side in the middle right i can fix that part with sil. but also the hooks on the pre filler box (inside tank part)are busted off i cant fix that. and i'm missing the manifold piece and valve for skimmer so if they send me those few pieces i can get it going the body of the filter seems ok o yah also has 2 broken blades on skimmer pump prop.

I also broke (not in shipping) the 2 tabs on one of the overflow boxes. Depending on how yours broke,I actually superglued mine back on and I have had no problem since September when I set it up. I have removed the boxes several times to be cleaned and the glue(so far)is holding. Give it a try(if possible) as you very well know the boxes are pretty expensive.
Amazing the same piece on yours is broke

The company claims they even switched carriers,and this carrier has far less damage. Can you imagine what is was like before the switch?

For the damage I dealt with the Company that sold it.
For the reasons on why the J tubes always had air and there was low flow issues,I dealt with the company that made it..

to my surprise thay were very nice and helpful they knew that i sat on it 4 6 mo. i was open and honest with them supposedly they sent out my missing parts & broken parts today at no charge
we'll see
if all goes well i'll be operational this weekend

That is not where I keep my water level.I keep mine about 2-3" higher than that. If you left it at their water level,the pump would not be fully submerged.
I would un-plug the pump so you make sure you will not have any overflow issues in case of a power outage,and the adjust the water in the sump according to your needs.

My Proclear Pro came with damaged parts too. A huge crack down the side of the protein skimmer and a missing part ( manifold )
I called and he said he woiuld see if he could get it out for overnight in time ( if it was'nt passed the deadline ) and that if it was past the deadline, it would be here on Monday.
Was'nt too thrilled with the crack but the customer service was nice and overnight shipping free of charge

yes they did but they sent me the wrong impeller for skimmer pump so they sent that out thursday so i'm hoping 2 get it mon. tue. then i can put it together. that was my prob retn. pump would not b subm. so what your saying is u set ur. own w.l. ??? thank you 4 ur quick response i really appreciate it

thats not to bad at least the the whole filter body is all rite u could of still used it if u had all the parts its a good thing there ez to deal with. very nice people
