Yes. I know your set-up is a different because of the skimmer, but my water is around the top of where the sponge sits,or to where the 2 vertical pieces are inside the box.Was trying to download a pic but everything is too big,I think
Just won't let me do it.
Also keep an eye on that level, without a top I get alot of evaporation

i wish icould show u but i cant upload any pics i don't know what the heck is going on ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? does any one ...........

You should be fine. My water level is about 2" over the egg crate,or about 2-3" over the pump
Sorry about the crappy pic About even with the plastic slats even with the sponge filter

WoW !!! That sucks.
So you mean to tell me it leaked just running? Or did it overflow when you unplugged it ?
Also what pump do you have? Is it the CA ? If so I have 2 CA2200 pumps, but they really only put out 500gph @ 4' The box shows 1500gph @ 4',but thats liters.
If your pump truly puts out 1100gph up top,it might be to big. I think those boxes are only rated for like 600gph,but their tech support can better guide you on that.Unless it truly puts out 1100gph but they figure that would be split for 2 boxes

All I can say is with 1 2200 and 2 boxes I did not have enough circulation, and the filter did not operate properly.
Well,I hope its something simple
P.S...looks nice

Hey,just noticed something in one of your pics. Is there a reason you ran the boxes side by side?
P.S and get rid of that swing arm and get a refractometer,if you don't already have one. lol

i put them s by s to create a circle current i put the inlet 14in. away facing away + i can feed them on the other side and it doesn't get sucked in

Just watch for smaller fish, gobies etc. I moved 3 glo fish Saturday from my 55 gal with a hob filter to my 125 with the wet/dry. 1 got in an overflow box yesterday, and I had to pull everything apart to get it out. This am it was gone again, and I found it dead in the bottom filter. When I got home another is MIA

I do have my boxes at opposite ends. However I have both pumps on a switch and I do shut the filter off when feeding. This way I also get to observe my sump level in case there is a power outage.
So you never told what happened.

After seeng all teh trouble you have getting a Wet dry setup running I will stay with my HANG ON THE BACK OF THE TANK POWER FILTERS. I use undergravel for my biological filters and with reverse flow powerheads have no problems with them.

Sometimes I gotta agree. My Emperor 400 on my 55 has never given me any problems, and my tank is always clean.Originally I was going to go with 2 HOB's on the 125 & sometimes I wish I did.Oh well

If I ever go bigger that is a very big if wife will not let me LOL. I will still stick with Outside filters or Canisters why if the pump fails you do not have a syphon draining your tank like crazy and dumping the water all over the place.

my smallest fish is a 4in niger trigger
i had to modify(cut) my cabinet to fit the dam thing the wife and 2 yr old were taking a nap when i figured out i had 2 cut it
so between that and all the problems it took me 7hrs including a trip 2 lfs
but today the tank looks so clear it looks like there's no water in it
i'm glad its over
