I dont use the chemi pure elite, just the regular chem-pre I dont think its dat much of a difference!
But the purigen says it last up to 6 months. Ive been changing em about very 2 months, but im gonna up that to changing em out every month and im gonna more filter media as well... Just ordered some extra stuff!!!

It was at one point. But then I changed the air pump and havent been able to get it to work very well. Pretty much pulling out nothing right now. But after I tweak it a littl bit it pulls out a good amount of stuff... Its worth the 20 bucks or whatever it is...
