Recomend Coral & Inverts for New Large Tank

:help: I am in the process of purchaseing a 60X20X40 tank and I am going to set it up as a peacefull tank. Tangs, Anthias, BG Reef Chromis, Blennis, etc. The tank already has a custom built artificial reef on one side stepping down to a little over 1/3 of the tank length. The other 2/3rds is open. It will also have an under cabinet filter and skimmer combo and has an overflow side tank with two large powerheads out the top. I would appreciate any recomendations you could give on how much and types of coral & inverts would work best going for color and diversity in selections. This is my 1st saltwater tank but have kept fresh for years. Thanks

well first off you are going to have to wait a while for your tank the establish before adding corals or inverts. also, te coral types would depend on the type of lighting.

I am planning on using a large amount of LR & LS. Will get a clean up crew, any recs on what plants, inverts such as anemones to start with? I am not sure what lighting package I am going with but I will get strong enough lights for LR and such. I have seen T-5 lights referenced to on this site several times....is that the best type?

to START with, only get snails, hermits, and maybe some shrimp and crabs if you would like. As your tank matures, you can add others.

What kind of snail, etc package would you recomend? Tank will be in vicinity of 200g. and is their any specific time frame before adding other stuff? Fish 1st or plants etc.

once your tank cycles, id let it sit for another week or two to make sure it realy is done, Then add yoru clean up crew, then wait another week or so before adding your first fish. wait a few months and then add an easy coral such as mushrooms if you have proper lighting, ect.
as far as numbers, it will depend on what you want. Id recomend just slowing adding until you find a good balance.

Ricordea mushroom polyps are some of the easiest corals to care for.
