recomendations for a hang on overflow

hello all i am going to be bulding a sump and a refugium for my 75 gallon tank very soon. I was wondering what hang on over flow i should buy? It will be going into a 20 gallon sump, and i will have a refugium made out of either a 10 gallon tank or a rubbermaid tank. Also what protein skimmer would you reccomend? i am leaning towards the ev120. Where would i install check valves if any? On the return line or the drain line. Thanks for you help!

Lifereef builds very reputable U-tube overflows, otherwise Amiracle is another good brand of U-tube overflows. The CPR overflow works well (I've used one for a few years now), but it's not for everyone.
The AquaC EV 120 is a good skimmer, but just for you to have something to compare it to, look at a Euro Reef ES5-3 or CS6-1.
A check valve would be installed on the return line between the pump and tank. I would not recommend one because they are prone to failure and the same results can be had by drilling anti-siphon holes into your return plumbing just below the surface of the water.
