Recommend a protein skimmer for a newb?

I am planning on switching my 75g to salt.... A reef tank to be precise.
Can you recommend a reasonably priced skimmer for a beginner??

Umm, in and out of sump - Coralife super skimmer 125.
Personally, I don't run a skimmer on any of my tanks anymore. I just do water changes and feed less.

IMO, NIX the coralife. Get an octopus extreme 150, or it's TWIN the MSX 150. They're the same exact skimmer, just get whichever you get the best deal on.

+1 even though I have a CSS220 running on my 120

I have a CLSS 125 and just bought a MSX160.MSX160 hands down is better but the CLSS wasnt a bad skimmer just sensitive and needed a lot of tinkering.

If you are running a sump wattsupdoc has the solution. I think it is called the Extreme 160 versus the Extreme 150 but I could be wrong. Either way you get the idea and they are a great skimmer for the money.
