I Am starting a 5 gallon reef tank and am wondering what fish, if any would do okay in such a small tank. If nothing too interesting will work there is a some pipefish at the LFS that stay about 3 inches so i think those may be kinda fun???

The tank has an 11 watt bulb in it, what kind of corals could i keep in this? would zoos and mushroos be okay? I could upgrade to 15 or 25 watts for a few dollars more so the lighting isnt that big of a deal, just curious what would work with that particular bulb.

I know this is difficult to adhere to, but I honestly wouldn't put any marine fish into a 5 gallon tank. I have no experience with tanks this small so I may be wrong.

Yellow watchman goby, blackcap basslet, or a royal gramma.
My yellow watchman goby rarely ever leaves a 3" x 3" section in my 24 DX cube and I am inclined to believe he would live happily in a pickle jar if there was a small cave for him to chill in.

I personally agree.
There is a big difference, IMO, in the area a fish inhabits in the wild...and then translating that to putting them in such a small tank. That does not take into consideration anything about water stability, etc.
This is a 5g tank...with LR, corals, etc, it will be no where near that.
I would do nothing larger than a neon goby, MAYBE a clown goby, personally...but I would prefer no fish at all in many cases.

What about a panda goby, they only grow to be 1.5 inches long???
