I have decided to step up to a 55g reef tank, so here is the deal. As of now I have a Coral Beauty, two Blue Devils, a scooter blenny, and a Purple Pseudo. What else would you recommend for me to get when I get the tank running? I know for sure I am getting a LMB, but what else?

i have a 55 gal. but i made a huge mistake in it. i started it about 2 years ago with damsels. BIG MISTAKE!!! the 2 that are left are 3 stripe. they have picked and bullied everything that i have put in there : 2 manderine dragonettes, 1 false percula clown, 1 pretty big maroon clown, tang(i know, i know -Flame me), lawnmower blenny, and some others i can't remember.
if you have any damsels, get them out.
some good fish are: Manderine Dragonettes, lawnmower blenny, clowns, royal gramma. people on here tell you not to get tangs, but mine lived for around a year and a half before the damsel nipped him to the point of death.

I have a 46g and I always cycle tanks with damsels. I still have my two damsels (blue and domino) in my tank with a perc, scooter, royal dotty, and banded goby. The domino attempts to be a boss, but rarely wins the decision... the blue damsel is clearly the weak link of the entire tank and pretty much stays to himself.
I love damsels, but I will continue to keep my eye out for the domino... I believe he could be a problem as time goes on. I just hope he has adapted to the tank mates and continues to be nothing but a good fish.
I will say this, when I start my next tank I will not use damsels. As I want this next tank be with fish I have never owned before.

I was just re-reading the original post.
"I have decided to step up to a 55g reef tank" and
"As of now I have a Coral Beauty, two Blue Devils, a scooter blenny, and a Purple Pseudo"
Is the tank set up or not? Are there fish in it?
If it is up and was recently started, I wouldn't have the Coral Beauty in it for quite some time. I wouldn't put any damsels at all, too aggressive. And even the Scooter could be a problem as they need a more established tank.
If it is not set up yet, I'd cycle it with cocktail shrimp and then start adding fish...SLOWLY.
A pair of false percs would be a good start.
