red algae!!!!!!!

ok so I have this re algae alove my tank. I know they say phosphates cause this I have stuff in there that is suppose to drop it and it's not helping. I also have used that red slime stuff does anyone have any clue hoe to get rid of this it looks nasty I don't want it.:help:

:happyfish Silica can cause that problem too. Just make sure your usin r.o. water and not tap. Tap contains a lot of silica. Try more flow too, I've heard that can help. Otherwise I don't know how to help ya. Good luck, alison

if your sure its cyanobacteria (red slime).
try chemi-clean ($15) it will go away in 3-4 days.
youll need to vac the dead stuff out, and do a 20%water change after the treatment.
also keep lights off 18-20 hrs. a day for 1 week following treatment.
i got good feedback from others when i had this problem, and the cure worked.

i thought that stuff wasn't reef safe (killed off good as well undesirable bacteria - could start a small cycle, etc)
